Billing Information

 

South Street Medical Centre is a privately billing clinic. We charge a $100 gap payment for all procedures except for patients:

 

• Who are under the age of 16
• Pensioners (on presentation of a valid card)
• Veterans

 

We are able to submit your claims to Medicare on your behalf, please check with reception when presented with your account.

Long Consultation $145.00

Weekend Rate $90.00 Concession Card holders & under 16: $70.00
Medicare Rebate $41.20

 

We bulk bill for all Concession Card holder & under 16 years of age between 7am-5pm ONLY.

 

Please bring your valid Medicare card and any Concession cards to your appointment.

 

Private billing -

 

Please note – there is no bulk billing after 5pm or weekends for under 16 or concession card holders.

 

Telephone access to Doctors

Doctors in this practice are unable to take calls from patients. It is best to book an appointment to discuss your health issue with the doctor in person. In an emergency, your call will always be put through to the on-duty Nurse as quickly as possible.

 

Obtaining results of any tests or procedures

These are best discussed in a follow-up consultation with your Doctor to ensure that proper medical care, review of your condition and a re-examination is completed. Results will NOT be given over the phone, because of lack of confidentiality, our inability to properly reassess your condition, and the potential for misunderstanding.

 

Reminder system

The South Street Medical Centre practice is committed to preventative care. Your Doctor will seek your permission to be included in our reminder system. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor or the receptionist know. We encourage self-responsibility in your health.

 

Management of your personal health information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.  We abide by the 10 National Privacy Principles available at http://www.privacy.gov.au/health/index.html.
